Hello, I'm Cathy Campbell

Cathy Campbell has been designing math curriculum for her classrooms most of her life. In the early years, she taught every grade from Kindergarten through high school in one capacity or another. In the middle years, she taught math to students with learning differences and began structuring her curriculum specifically to meet the needs of these students. In recent years, she taught developmental math in state and federal prisons with close to a 95% completion rate, using a curriculum she designed with the feedback from prisoners. Cathy has an Elementary Education degree, with a math concentration, and a Ph.D. in Psychology. Her long experience in teaching math coupled with her understanding the psychology behind becoming a successful student especially informs the curricula she creates.

Hi, I'm Jean Meier

Jean has over 30 years of experience as a teacher, counselor, trainer, and writer. She has extensive math teaching and curriculum development experience, mostly with students with special needs.

Jean has also worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor helping people with disabilities make life transitions.  In addition, she has 6 years of experience teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Another important influence has been Nonviolent Communication (NVC) which brings Gandhian nonviolence principles to communication in conflict situations.

Jean says: "My teaching has always been based on deep listening to my students because I have a firm belief that even those who have had difficulty with math for years can succeed when supported in sensitive and innovative ways."

Our team leaders are dedicated volunteers.
